Born and raised on Long Island, Kevin Gobetz joined the San Diego Symphony in June of 2022. Previously, Mr. Gobetz served as Principal Bass of the Phoenix Symphony. Before becoming a fellow of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Mr. Gobetz earned a Masters Degree and Graduate Certificate from the University of Southern California from 2012-2016 as well as a Bachelor’s Degree as a double major in Music Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College. He has also been the recipient of fellowships from the Tanglewood Music Festival and the Aspen Music Festival.
